SUSTAINABILITY CORNER

On Monday, Oct 28 Sandburg/DCS Community was pleased to host the
U.S. Department of Education during its Washington state tour, "Whole Child,
Whole School Sustainability."

Lake Washington School District was recognized as a 2019 U.S. Department
of Education Green Ribbon Schools Award Winner. On Earth Day this year,
Sandburg/DCS was recognized as a 2019 Washington State Green School
Leader in Pillar III.

We were proud to offer learning stations for our guests. Several were hosted
by our student Green Team & their adult helpers! Stations discussed
Recycling and Composting at school, Herbicide Free Grounds, our No Idle
Zone, and ways that LWSD uses technology to track energy & resource usage. Thanks to Erin Subcleff for organizing our students & helping them create visuals for this
event!!
